CYLINDER LINER REPLACEMENT (CONT)
Cylinder liners must be checked for projection. DO NOT install O-ring or filler band to make this
Install cylinder liner in cylinder bore.
Install 3/4 in. 16 NF 3 in. long bolts and copper washers on the cylinder block next to each liner.
Torque bolts evenly in four steps:
10 ft lb
25 ft lb
50 ft lb
70 ft lb
Install adapter plate and one plate on top of liner.
Install remaining pieces of installation tool. Be sure bar is in position at center of liner.

15 lb ft
25 lb ft
50 lb ft
Check distance from bottom of bar to top of cylinder block on both sides of liner. Distance must be equal.
If the liner is turned in the bore, it can make a difference in the liner projection. Liner projection
should be 0.001 to 0.006 in. Measurements on the same liner should not differ by more than 0.002
in. Average measurements between liners next to each other should not differ by more than 0.002
in. The maximum difference in average projection for all cylinder liners should not be more than 0.
Using cylinder liner projection kit, check cylinder liner projection at four locations around the liner.
