2-27.1. PRESSURE SWITCH PANEL ASSEMBLY. This task covers:
Tools, see TM 10-4610-232-12, Appx B,
Sec Ill, Ref Code (No.):
Tool Kit. General Mechanics Automotive (1)
ROWPU shutdown. Pressure switch panel junction
box removed (para. 2-28). Main circuit breaker
(CB1) turned OFF.
Tape, Antiseize (Appx B, Sec II, Item 67)
Preformed Packing (TM 10-4610-232-24P)
General Safety lnstructions:
Observe specific Warnings in the text.
Make sure electrical power is disconnected before working on unit. Failure to do so could
result in serious injury or death from electrical shock.
Do not wear watches, rings, or dog tags when working on electrical components.
Make sure air pressure is vented from manifolds before working on switch panel
assembly. Failure to do so could result in serious injury from pressurized air.
Tag all wires before disconnecting to make installation easier.
a. Shut off electrical power by turning main circuit breaker CB1 (1, Figure 2-39.1, sheet 1) to the OFF position.
Disconnect cable P24.
b. Close air tank valve (2) and open manifold bleed valve (3) to drain air pressure in the system.
c. Check air pressure gages (4) to ensure that air pressure in the system is zero.
d. Tag and disconnect seven hoses (5 thru 11) by unscrewing hose nuts at the points where they connect to their
respective pressure switches.
e. Refer to Figure 2-39.1, sheet 2, remove four capscrews (12), lockwashers (13) and washers (14) and remove
the pressure switch panel as an assembly.
a. Unscrew the hose nuts on each end of tube (15) and remove the tube. Remove tubes (16, 17 and 18) in the
same way. Tees (23) and elbow (23A) are now free.
b. Remove all screws (35), lock washers (36), flat washers (37), and clamps (38).
c. Remove seven pressure switches (28 thru 32) as follows:
(1) Remove capscrews (19), lockwashers (20) and washers (21).
