2-28. PRESSURE SWITCH PANEL JUNCTION BOX (JB1). This task covers:
Tools, see TM 10-4610-232-12, Appx B,
Set Ill, Ref Code (No.):
Tool Kit, General Mechanics Automotive (1)
Stripper, Wire (16)
Tape, Electrical (Appx B, Sec II, Item 68)
Lo&washers (TM 10-4610-232-24P)
Washers (TM 10-4610-232-24P)
Main circuit breaker (CB1) turned off.
a. Disconnect cable P24 as shown on Figure 2-40, sheet 1.
b. Loosen two screws (1) on clamp (2) and open the cover on the box. Do not remove screws (1).
There are seven cables entering the junction box. Three of the seven have straight
body connectors and are identical. Four of them have elbow bodies and are identical.
Four of them have elbow bodies and are identical. A typical procedure for each is
Each of the seven pressure switch cables is connected to its switch in the same
manner and has a black and white wire.
c. Tag and disconnect wiring harness wires (28) and cable wires (9) from terminal strip (Figure 2-40, sheet 2).
Refer to TM 10-4610-232-12, para. 4-10.
Removal of cover plate on all pressure switches is similar to the following procedures.
d. lf necessary, remove one or more cables (9, sheet 1)from the appropriate pressure switch (52). Proceed as follows:
(1) If the cable is secured by clamps (some have clamps, some do not) remove capscrews (42), lockwashers (43),
washers (44) and remove clamps (45).
(2) Loosen screw (46) on the front of the pressure switch and remove the cover (47).
(3) Tag and disconnect cable (9) connections within the pressure switch.
(4) Loosen nut (48) and slide nut (48), retainer (49) and bushing (50) back on cable (9). Remove cable (9) from
Pressure switch connector (51) and slide nut (48), retainer (49), and bushing (50) off cable (9). If necessary, remove
e. Unscrew nuts (3) and slide nuts (3), retainers (4) and bushing (5) back on cables (9).
f. Remove conduit nut (6) from inside cable box (41) for each cable to be removed and remove bodies (7). Remove
sealing washers (8) and cables (9) from body connectors (7).
g. Remove from each end of the junction box, two capscrews (10), washers (11), nuts (12), lockwashers (13),
washers (14) and washers (15), securing junction box (41) to bracket (53).
h. Remove from each end of the junction box (41), two capscrews (16), washers (17), nuts (18), lockwashers (19) and
washers (20) and remove cover (21), gasket (22). cover (23) and gaskets (24).
