4-19. VAN BODY CEILING LIGHT
NOTE
Before proceeding to repair or replace the lights be sure that the electric current is disconnected.
a.
Removal and Disassembly.
(1)
Insert screwdriver blade under one corner of door assembly (8, fig. 3-4) and pry door away from frame (1)
until door swings open enough to expose tension spring hinges (9).
(2)
Remove door (8) by compressing tension spring hinge (9) and removing from retainer in light assembly.
(3)
Remove lamp (4) by turning counterclockwise.
(4)
Remove two hexagon nuts (6) which secure lamp receptacle (5) to light assembly.
(5)
Pull receptacle (5) away from light assembly far enough to disconnect wires from receptacle.
(6)
Remove two screws (2) and remove light assembly from the ceiling of van body.
(7)
Remove four screws holding reflector (3) in place and lift reflector from light frame assembly.
(8)
Slide glass (7) from door (8).
b.
Reassembly and Installation.
(1)
Slide glass (7, fig. 3-4) into door (8).
(2)
Position reflector (3) in light frame (1) and insert four screws (2) through reflector into frame, tighten
securely.
(3)
Position lamp frame assembly (1) into opening of van body ceiling. Draw receptacle wires out through
receptacle opening.
(4)
Connect wires to terminals on receptacle (5).
(5)
Position receptacle (5) on mounting screws (2) and install nuts (6) on the screws.
(6)
Screw lamp (4) into receptacle (5).
(7)
Install door assembly (8) on frame (1).
c.
Replace. Replace all unserviceable parts.
