Preparation of limestone slurry.
Initial base charge. The concentration of limestone slurry for the initial charge is 1 pound of
limestone per gallon of water, as shown on the limestone slurry calibration chart (fig. 2-12).

Open the 1 inch control valves CV-7 (2, fig 2-13) and CV-8 (2, fig. 2-14) located on the raw water
line to the slurry feeder.
Fill the limestone compartment (6, fig. 2-15) until the water level reaches the high level mark
located inside the slurry feeder tank.
Close the 1/2 inch control valve CV-8 (2, fig. 2-14).
Push the slurry feeder START button (9, fig. 2-1) to start the feeder agitators.
Open the charging door (4, fig. 2-15) and add 14 pounds of limestone to the limestone
compartment (6) of the slurry feeder. Close the charging door (4).
