CORRECTIVE ACTION
b. Adjust R.O. PRESSURE to 960 psig for seawater feed or 500 psig for
fresh/brackish water feed. Collect a sample of product water in a clean container
and measure TDS with TDS meter (para. 232). Record value.
c. Open REGULATE PRODUCT WATER valve fully. Product water flow should
decrease to zero.
d. If sample valves are available (Model No. 600-3), use them to collect sample
product water from each vessel. If sample valves are not available (Model No.
600-1 ), use the following procedures:
Take care when removing hoses from product water manifold. Water is under
pressure and will discharge rapidly.
(1)
(2)
(3)
(4)
Remove R.O. VESSEL 1 (top vessel) product water hose from product water
manifold (vertical pipe with VENT PRODUCT WATER valve at top) by
disconnecting camlock fitting.
Install male plug camlock fitting in product water manifold in place of R.O.
Vessel 1 hose camlock fitting.
Remove threaded plug from end of product water stub tube at Vessel 1 front
end cap (vessel end nearest drain valves).
Slowly close REGULATE PRODUCT WATER valve until R.O. PRESSURE
gage reads 800 (or 500 or brackish water) psig. Product water should flow
from both ends of Vessel 1.
e. Using clean containers, collect a sample of product water from each end of R.O.
Vessel 1. Be sure to rinse each container twice with sample water before collecting
sample. Mark container appropriately as front or rear.
f. Open REGULATE PRODUCT WATER valve fully. Product water flow should
decrease to zero at product water flow meter and Vessel 1 stub tubes.
g. Measure TDS of each product water sample using the TDS meter (para. 2-32).
h. Based on the TDS measurements of the collected samples, one of the following
four conditions can exist:
