MALFUNCTION
TEST OR INSPECTION
CORRECTIVE ACTION
CARBON MONOXIDE (CO) MONITOR.
1. Monitor setpoints do not adjust.
Perform the test and adjustment procedure and adjust the zero and span pots (para. 2-56).
(a) If the unit will not adjust, replace the sensor and readjust the unit (para. 2-56).
(b) If the unit does not perform correctly after replacing the sensor, replace the main board (para. 2-56).
2. Monitor does not display.
Visually check that monitor is functioning.
(a) Replace the display board. Refer to para. 2-56.
(b) Replace the main board if step 1 did not correct the problem. Refer to para. 2-56.
AIR COMPRESSOR.
WARNING
Electrical high voltage can cause serious injury or death. Some tests performed in
troubleshooting require power to be connected. Always take proper measure to ensure
personal safety.
NOTE
Ensure that all circuit breakers are set before troubleshooting.
1. Air compressor will not start. (Ref. Schematic diagram FO-1, sheet 8, schematic lines 824-829 and schematic diagram
FO-1, sheet 5, schematic lines 518-521).
Step 1. Shut down the ROWPU. Open the control panel. Check that the overload reset button on MS1 is in by
pushing it.
(a) If the reset button is in, go to step 3.
(b) If the button is out and will not reset, replace the overload heaters on MS1 (REF: Interconnection
diagram FO-2, Sheet 10). Refer to para. 2-25 and then go to step 2.
(c) If the reset button is out but resets when pushed, adjust the door reset assembly for MS1. Refer to
para. 2-24 and then go to step 2.
Step 2. Check each lead, 1T1, 1T2 and 1T3 from MS1 to J20 (REF: Interconnection diagram FO-2, Sheet 16) for
damage and tightness.
Repair any loose or damaged wire (para. 2-20).
Step 3. Refer to the operators manual and power up the control panel. Observe MS1 when the air compressor start
switch is turned on. Be sure the system air pressure is below 1400 psig before turning on the air compressor.
The indicating plunger should go in and stay in, which indicates the control circuits are working properly.
If the indicating plunger goes in and stays in, go to step 7.
Step 4. Disconnect P11 (REF: Interconnection diagram FO-2, Sheet 14) from the control panel and check continuity
across P11B and P11C, It should read zero.
If it does not read zero, refer to pressure switch troubleshooting (malfunction 19).
Step 5. Shut down ROWPU and generator. Refer to electrical drawings in Appendix E. Turn the air compressor
switch on. Check continuity, point-to-point, from transformer T1(X1) (REF: Interconnection diagram FO-2,
Sheet 10) to J11B (REF: Interconnection diagram FO-2, Sheet 9).
(a) Repair any loose or damaged wire (para. 2-20).
(b) Replace circuit breakers CB7 and CB10 (REF: Interconnection diagram FO-2, Sheet 8) if open (para.
2-23).
(c) Replace switch PB3 (REF: Interconnection diagram FO-2, Sheet 11) if open (para. 2-22).
