60003 SYMPTOM PROBABLE CAUSE TEST AND REMEDY DROP IN PURITY -DIRTY STILL Inspect evaporator for scale and clean as required. -VOLATILE IMPURI- Test distillate for C02, NH3, etc.  Re- TIES IN FEED duce water flow rate to help eliminate WATER volatiles from condenser. PYROGENIC OR -DIRTY STILL Inspect evaporator for excess scale and ORGANIC CONTAMINA- clean as required. TION OF DISTILLATE -LEAK IN CONDENSER Test condenser for leaks and replace if required. -BACTERIOLOGICAL Inspect the suspected parts.  Clean with GROWTH IN DIS- formaldehyde if required.  See "Biologi- TILLED WATER cal Cleaning" under CLEANING METHODS. DROP IN DISTILLATE -EXCESS SCALE ON Inspect and clean as required. CAPACITY HEATING UNIT -LOW VOLTAGE Check voltage. If less than 5-percent of the rated voltage, notify electrician. -LEAK IN DRAIN Ensure drain valve is closed and not VALVE leaking. -DAMAGED OR IN- Check wiring, connections, etc.  Test OPERATIVE HEAT- heaters and replace if necessary. ERS STEAM BLOWING -LOW WATER FLOW Readjust throttling valve. FROM CONDENSER RATE LOW WATER PRES- Check water pressure.  It should be at SURE , least 40-psi. -EXCESS SCALE IN Inspect condenser for scale.
