Table 2-1. Direct Support Troubleshooting Guide (Continued)
MALFUNCTION
TEST OR INSPECTION
CORRECTIVE ACTION
Step 3. Check that the indicating plunger on K12 (REF: Interconnection diagram FO-2, Sheet 6) pulls in.
If it does not pull in, go to step 5.
Step 4. Check that the indicating plunger on relay K14 pulls out and the alarm turns on when the inner pointer on
TDK4 reaches zero.
(a) If the alarm does not turn on, go to step 9.
(b) If the indicating plunger on K14 does not come out or if TDK4 does not go to zero, go to step 7.
Step 5. Shutdown ROWPU and generator. Refer to electrical drawings in Appendix D and remove the #2A wire from
relay K12 and K13 (REF: Interconnection diagram FO-2, Sheet 6). Disconnect connector P16 from the control
panel. Check continuity, point-to-point, from CB9 (REF: Interconnection diagram FO-2, Sheet 8) (wire #264)
to TDK3 (terminal 9). Depress the indicating plunger on relay K11 (REF: Interconnection diagram FO-2,
Sheet 6) when testing its contact.
(a) Repair any loose or damaged wire (para. 2-20).
(b) Replace relay K11 if its contact does not close when the indicating plunger is pushed (para. 2-23).
Step 6. Check continuity from TDK3 (terminal 8) to relay K12(K1). Check continuity, point-to-point, from
transformer T1(X2) (REF: interconnection diagram FO-2, Sheet 10) to relay K12 (wire #2A).
(a) Repair any loose or damaged wire (para. 2-20).
(b) Replace relay K12 if the checks in steps 5-6 have not located the problem (para. 2-23).
Step 7. Shut down ROWPU and generator. Refer to electrical drawings in Appendix E. Remove the wires from
terminal 2 of TDK4. Check continuity, point-to-point, from CB9 (wire #264) to TDK4 (terminal 1 ). (Schematic
line 732.) Depress the indicating plunger on relay K12 when testing its contact, Check continuity, point-to-
point, from transformer (T1(X2) to TDK4 (wire #2A).
(a) Repair any loose or damaged wire (para. 2-20).
(b) Replace relay K12 if its contact does not close when the indicating plunger is depressed (para. 2-23).
Step 8. Check continuity from TDK4 (terminal 1) to TDK4 (terminal 8).
(a) Repair any loose or damaged wire (para. 2-20).
(b) Replace TDK4 if the checks in steps 7-8 do not isolate the problem (para. 2-23).
Step 9. Shutdown ROWPU and generator. Refer to electrical drawings in Appendix D. Check continuity from TDK4
(terminal 8) to terminal strip 1-22,
(a) Repair any loose or damaged wire (para. 2-20).
(b) Refer to alarm circuit troubleshooting, malfunction #1 in TM 10-4610-232-12.
1.
System on/system standby circuit does not work - system standby starts at step 5. (Ref. Schematic diagram FO-1, sheet
6, schematic lines 602-603, 604-605).
Step 1. Shutdown ROWPU and generator. Place SS2 (REF: Interconnection diagram FO-2, Sheet 15) in the system
on position. Remove the K1 and K2 (REF: Interconnection diagram FO-2, Sheet 6) wires from K4 (REF:
Interconnection diagram FO-2, Sheet 6). Check continuity, point-to-point, from transformer T1(X1) (REF:
Interconnection diagram FO-2, Sheet 10) to relay K4(K1). Repeat the procedure from T1(X2) to relay K4(K2).
(a) Repair any loose or damaged wire (para. 2-20).
(b) Replace circuit breaker CB7 (REF: Interconnection diagram FO-2, Sheet 8) if open (para. 2-23).
(c) Replace switch PB3 (REF: Interconnection diagram FO-2, Sheet 11) if open (para. 2-22).
(d) Replace switch SS2 if open (para. 2-22).
(e) If all above checks do not solve the problem, replace relay K4 (para. 2-23).
Step 2. Remove the wires from A1X/A1Y on relay K4. Check for continuity across the Al contact when the indicating
plunger on K4 is pushed in.
If there is no continuity, replace K4 (para. 2-23).
