d. Pull the recoil starter cord out a little, secure the rope, slip the handle down the rope and
untie or cut off the knot at the end of the rope (see Figure 2).
e. Remove the handle from the rope and pull the rope end out of the eye bolt.
f. Slide the handle back onto the rope end and knot the end of the rope. Let the rope and
handle retract to the recoil starter.

g. Open the pump drain valve and drain any water remaining in the pump, then close the
valve (see Figure 3).
h. Drain the oil from the engine as described elsewhere in this work package.
i. Remove the oil drain extension and gaskets. Reinstall the drain plug on the engine so
any remaining oil does not drip out.
