The inputs into the analysis were as follows:10,000 lbs pull @ mid layer18,000 lbs brake @ mid layer25 FPM hose speed @ mid layerThe basic winch configuration was dictated by available deck space. This limitation established a winch hub O.D. of102.5 inches. Assuming five wraps of a 6-inch O.D. hose, the mid layer diameter becomes 132.5 in O.D. (66.25-inchradius).
