12. RUPTURE DISC POPS
NOTE
Under high-pressure conditions, the high-pressure relief valve
should open first. The high-pressure switch should then stop
R.O. motor operation. The rupture disc is the final safety device.
Step 1.
Replace the rupture disc and rupture disc holder.
Step 2.
Test high-pressure switch in accordance with item 10, table 2-3.
Step 3.
Test high-pressure relief valve in accordance with item 11, table 23.
If the following symptoms occur simultaneously, the valves maybe unseated.
a. Loud knocking noise.
b. Wildly fluctuating gages.
c. Pulsating and vibration of entire ROWPU.
d. Decrease in water flow pressure.
Notify direct support maintenance.
