Measure thickness of flattened portion of solder wire. Thickness should be 0.036-0.043 in. If
measurement not within tolerance, remove finned cylinder and install or remove spacers as required
(subpara c) and repeat steps 1 thru 8.

Install intake manifold (para 2-50).
10 Install muffler (para 2-49).
11 Install rocker arm (para 3-36).
12 Start engine. (See TM 10-4610-229-10.) Let engine run 30 minutes.
13 Stop engine. (See TM 10-4610-229-10.)
14 Loosen four cylinder head nuts one-quarter of a turn.
15 Torque head nuts to 37-40 ft lb.
