Remove finned cylinder.

Remove shims and O-ring.

Cylinder Installation
1
Coat inside of finned cylinder with engine oil (MIL-L-2104).

Install O-ring and shims.
NOTE
Piston rings must be staggered 180°.

Using piston ring clamp, install finned cylinder.
NOTE
Piston clearance is the space between top of the finned cylinder and the flat surface top of piston,
with piston at tdc. Piston clearance should be 0.180-0.184 in. Add shims to increase clearance.
Remove shims to decrease clearance.

Using dial indicator, measure piston clearance. Adjust as required.

Install guide plate and retaining rod.

Install washer and nut.

Cylinder Head Installation
1
Install gasket, O-ring, compression ring, compression spring, and cylinder head.

Install four nuts on cylinder head studs.

Using a straight edge, aline the intake and exhaust ports of cylinder heads.
NOTE
Cylinder head nuts must be torqued in a criss-cross pattern.
4
Torque cylinder head bolts to 37-40 ft lb.
