Filter Normal Valve Positions (Figure 2-76.2). Position the manually operated automatic valve(s) according to positions
listed below and then follow normal start-up procedures (para. 2-17).
(a)
Clean/flush outlet valve (1) - closed.
(b)
Media filter inlet valve (2) - open.
(c)
Media filter backwash inlet valve (3) - closed.
(d)
Media filter backwash outlet valve (4) - closed.
(e)
Media filter outlet valve (5) - open.
(f)
Media filter flush valve (6) - open initially. Closed after forward flush on start-up.
