Step 10. Check continuity, point-to-point, from K28 (load wire #312) to relay K1(B3X). Depress the indicating plunger
on relay K1 and starter MS8-1M when checking across their contacts.
(a) Repair any loose or damaged wires (para. 2-20).
(b) Replace relay K1 if its contact is open (para. 2-23).
(c) Repair starter MS8-1M (REF: Interconnection diagram FO-2, Sheet 10) if its contact does not close
when testing (para. 2-25).
(d) Replace K28 (para. 2-23).
Air blanket works but the air blanket light does not come on. Light test okay. (Ref. Schematic drawing FO-1, sheet 8,
schematic line 607).
Shut down ROWPU and generator. Refer to electrical drawings in Appendix D. Remove the #2A wire form PL19 (REF:
Interconnection diagram FO-2, Sheet 12). Check continuity, point-to-point, from relay K1(B3X) (REF: Interconnection
diagram FO-2, Sheet 6) to PL19 (wire #318). Repeat the procedure from transformer T1(X2) (REF: Interconnection
diagram FO-2, Sheet 10) to PL19 (wire #2A).
(a) Repair any loose or damaged wires (para. 2-20).
(b) Replace LTK4 (REF: Interconnection diagram FO-2, Sheet 8) if its contact is open (para. 2-23).
(c) Replace PL19 if the above checks are okay (para. 2-22).
Media filter needs to be drained manually to start backwash.
This happens due to a lack of an air blanket on the media filter prior to initiating backwash.
(a) Refer to air blanket troubleshooting if an air blanket cannot be established prior to backwashing.
(b) Refer to media filter backwash phase 1 troubleshooting.
Backwash air solenoid valve works but pilot light does not come on. Light test okay. (Ref. Schematic diagram FO-2,
sheet 7, schematic Iines 727-728).
Shut down ROWPU and generator. Refer to electrical drawings in appendix D. Remove wire #2A from pilot light PL17
(REF: Interconnection diagram FO-2, Sheet 12) and remove connector P16 from the control panel. Check continuity
from TDK2 (REF: Interconnection diagram FO-2, Sheet 8) (terminal 10) to pilot light PL17.
(a) Repair any loose or damaged wire (para. 2-20).
(b) Replace LTK4 (REF: Interconnection diagram FO-2, Sheet 8) if its contact is open (para. 2-23).
Media filter backwash cycle works okay until water starts filling the filter during phase 2 and then the backwash stops.
(Ref. Schematic diagram FO-1, sheet 7, schematic line 705).
Shut down ROWPU and generator. Refer to electrical drawings in Appendix D. Remove connector P14 (REF:
Interconnection diagram FO-2, Sheet 15) from the control panel. Check continuity, point-to-point, from relay
K15(B4X) (REF: Interconnection diagram FO-2, Sheet 7) to relay K2(C1X) (REF: Interconnection diagram FO-2, Sheet
6). Depress the indicating plunger on relay K11 (REF: Interconnection diagram FO-2, Sheet 6) when testing its
contact.
(a) Repair any loose or damaged wire (para. 2-20).
(b) Replace relay K11 if its contact does not close when the plunger is pushed in (para. 2-23).
