TM 10-4610-232-34Table 2-1. Direct Support Troubleshooting Guide (Continued)MALFUNCTIONTEST OR INSPECTIONCORRECTIVE ACTION6. Booster pump does not start In system “CLEAN”. (Ref. Schematic diagram FO-1, sheet 6, schematic Iines 626-629).Step 1.Step 2.Step 3.Step 4.Step 5.Step 6.Step 7.Shut down the ROWPU. Open the control panel and then restore power to the panel. Set the unit up in system“CLEAN” and push “INITIATE’. Check the indicating plungers on relays K3 and K19 (REF: Interconnectiondiagram FO-2, Sheet 6). They should be in.(a) If the plunger on K3 is out, refer to operation mode circuit troubleshooting (control circuitsmalfunction 2).(b) If the plunger on K19 does not go in, check that the clean/flush tank is full and then refer to clean/flushtank level switch troubleshooting (malfunction 7).Push the booster pump “START” switch and watch relay K9 (REF: Interconnection diagram FO-2, Sheet 8).The indicating plunger should go in and stay in even after the booster pump start switch is released. If the indicating plunger on K9 does not go in, go to step 4.Shut down the ROWPU and generator. Refer to electrical drawings in Appendix D and check continuity,point-to-point, from switch PB11(1B1) (REF: Interconnection diagram FO-2, Sheet 11) to relay K5(A4Y).Depress the indicating plungers on relays K15 (REF: Interconnection diagram FO-2, Sheet 7) and K9 whentesting across their contacts.(a) Repair any loose or damaged wires (para. 2-20).(b) Replace K15 or K9 if either of their respective contacts are open when the plunger is depressed (para.2-23).Remove wire #251 from relay K9(K1). Check continuity, point-to-point, from relay K5(A4Y) to wire #251 onK9. Depress the indicating plunger on K19 when checking its contact.(a) Repair any loose or damaged wires (para. 2-20).(b) Replace relay K19 if its contact does not close when the plunger is depressed (para. 2-23).Check continuity, point-to-point, from relay K19(A4Y) to relay K22(A4Y) (REF: Interconnection diagramFO-2, Sheet 6). Depress the indicating plungers on relays K3 and K19 when checking across their contacts.(a) Repair any loose or damaged wire (para. 2-20).(b) Replace relays K3 or K19 if their respective contacts do not close when the plunger is depressed (para.2-23).Check continuity, point-to-point, from transformer T1(X2) (REF: Interconnection diagram FO-2, Sheet 10) towire #2B on relay K9.If all the checks in steps 4-6 are okay and if the indicating plunger on K9 did not go in (step 3), replace relayK9 (para. 2-23).Remove wire #2B from PL10 (REF: Interconnection diagram FO-2, Sheet 11). Remove wire #243 from the coilon MS7 (REF: Interconnection diagram FO-2, Sheet 10). Check continuity, point-to-point, from relayK21 (A4Y) (REF: Interconnection diagram FO-2, Sheet 6) to wire #243 on MS7. Depress the indicating plungeron relay K3 when testing its contact.(a) Repair any loose or damaged wire (para. 2-20).(b) Replace relay K3 if its contact does not close when the plunger is depressed (para. 2-23).(c) Repair starter MS8-1M (REF: Interconnection diagram FO-2, Sheet 10) if its contact is open (para.2-25).7. Booster pump starts in system “CLEAN” but will not stay running.Step 1. Shut down the ROWPU. Open the control panel and then restore power to the panel. Set the unit up onsystem “CLEAN” and push “INITIATE. Start the booster pump and check the indicating plunger on relayK15 (REF: Interconnection diagram FO-2, Sheet 7) when the pump starts running. It should go in and stay in.If it does not go in, refer to feed low pressure switch troubleshooting (malfunction 16).Step 2. Check that the pump runs okay in system “NORMAL”. If the pump does not run in system “NORMAL” refer tothat troubleshooting procedure (malfunction 1).If the pump runs in system “NORMAL”, refer to booster pump will not run in system “CLEAN”troubleshooting (malfunction 6). The problem will probably be in the circuit controlling relay K9 (REF:Interconnection diagram FO-2, sheet 8).Change 12-67
