Be sure shorting plug/cap (1) is attached to pH electrode connector (2).

CAUTION
Observe correct polarity when installing battery. Incorrect connection can damage the equipment
Do not use AC to DC adapter if a battery is installed in meter. Damage to the battery or adapter can result.

Remove plug (3) and connect AC to DC adapter (4) or remove battery cover (5), install a battery (6) and attach
battery cover onto pH/temperature meter (7), as appropriate.
