2-19. HEATING WATER DRAWN FROM A NATURAL SOURCE (CONT).

a. Make sure VALVE NO. 1 is closed.
b. Connect one end of suction hose (1) to the suction connection on the pump
unit (2) and the other end to the foot valve assembly (3). When practical, place
the foot valve in an empty STB decontaminating drum or equivalent and
immerse the foot valve.
c. Connect one end of blender hose (4) to pump unit bottom discharge connection
and other end to water heater (5) bottom connection.
d. Connect one end of heater unit water hose (6) to pump unit upper discharge
piping, and the other end to water heater (5) upper connection.
