Check for lack of oil or improper grade of oil.

Lubricate in accordance with LO 5-4610-218-12.
Check for worn or broken gears.

Step 3. Inspect for worn or damaged bearings.
Replace the speed reducer, paragraph 4-26.
Step 4. Check for incorrect alignment.
Realign the speed reducer, paragraph 4-26.
