Repair. Repair any parts that are not serviceable. Any parts that are unserviceable report to higher authority.
c.
Adjustment.
(1)
Drain pump case and remove cover plate (para 4-45).
(2)
Loosen jamnut (1, fig. 4-98) and setscrew (2) to loosen peeler (3).
(3)
Set peeler so there is a 1/64 inch clearance between edge of peeler and impeller (4).
(4)
Rotate impeller by hand to be sure it does not touch peeler.
(5)
Secure peeler (3) with setscrew (2) and lock setscrew with nut (1).
(6)
Install pump cover plate (para 4-45).
SECTION XVII. MAINTENANCE OF PRECISION AND TOPOGRAPHICAL INSTRUMENTS
4-115. LEVELS.
a.
General. Three levels are mounted in recesses on the outside of the van body with a neoprene curtain over
each one. There is one on each side and one on the rear of the van body. They are used to direct the operation of
leveling the van body.
b.
Removal.
(1)
Lift level protective cover (1, fig. 4-99) from machinist level (5).
(2)
Remove two screws (3) and washers (6) from level (5) and lift level from van body (4).
c.
Replace. Replace the level if it is unserviceable.
d.
Installation.
(1)
Position level (5, fig. 4-99) on recess in van body (4) and secure with two screws (3) and washers (6).
(2)
Using another accurate level on van body, adjust level with screws (2) and adjusting nut (7) until bubbles of
both levels read the same.
