The slurry is hydraulically separated from clear water in the upper cylindrical section of the erdlator
tank in what is termed the separator zone (7). The slurry level is controlled by a continuous withdrawal of a small amount
of slurry from the top of the slurry pool, through slurry weir box (8) to sludge concentrator tank (6).

Clear water is collected at the water surface in the effluent launder (15) which acts as a double edged
