3-12. Drum clutch adjustment
a.
General. As clutch friction blocks wear, adjust five clutch adjusting screws (Fig. 3-8) so that just enough
clearance is maintained to clear blocks from drum.
b.
Adjustment
CAUTION
If proper clearance is not maintained, heat and scoring of clutch drum may occur.
(1)
Apply air pressure of at least 90 psi to air chamber.
(2)
Rotate clutch drum so that adjusting screw #1 in Fig. 3-8 is at position "x" and adjust to .020 in.
