Fuel Filter. Service the fuel filter, figure 3-3.
a.
Loosen fuel filter draincock.
b.
Loosen fuel filter retaining bolt.
c.
Allow fuel to drain into a suitable container.
d.
Remove fuel filter retaining bolt while holding filter housing.
e.
Remove filter assembly and gasket.
f.
Remove filter element.
g.
Clean filter shell as necessary to remove sludge and other foreign material.
h.
Close filter draincock and fill shell approximately two thirds full with clean fuel oil.
i.
Insert new filter and gasket and reinstall filter on the engine.
j.
Start engine and check for leaks.
