2-24. OIL FILTER REPLACEMENT (CONT)
WARNING
To prevent fire or explosion, do not bring sparks or open flame near diesel fuel.

Clean relief valve with diesel fuel. Wipe dry with rag.

Installation
1
Install relief valve.

Apply light coat of engine oil on oil filter gasket.

Install oil filter.

Remove oil filler cap.
5
Pour in 2 qts engine oil (MIL-L-2104).

Start engine. Let engine warm. (See TM 10-4610-229-10.)

Stop engine. (See TM 10-4610-229-10.)

Pull dipstick from engine and wipe clean.

Insert dipstick into tube and push into seat.

Pull dipstick out and check oil level. Fill as required. Install dipstick.
