Repair is limited to replacing unserviceable parts.
NOTE
Covers can only be removed after the high pressure pump assembly is removed.
Procedures for removing other access covers and panels are covered in para. 4-74 of
TM 10-4610-232-12.
Remove covers (1 and 2) by loosening their fasteners (3). Replace fasteners if damaged, by removing keeper ring
Replace fastener receptacles (5), if damaged, by removing nut (6).
Install new covers (1 and 2) and tighten captive fasteners (3).
Patching interior and exterior panels or skins.
WARNING
Exterior panels can not be welded. There is insulation behind panels which will give
off deadly fumes when burned.
(1) Cut away any sharp edges that will prevent patch from sealing properly.
(2) Cut a piece of 1/8 in. sheet aluminum. No less than 1 in. extending past each end of the tear or area to be
repaired,

If necessary, repair insulation by replacing with fiberglass insulation.
Place patch over area to be patched and drill holes for rivets.
Remove patch, place caulking around edges of patch and mount back over area that is to be patched.
Using rivets, secure patch into place (para. 4-10, TM 10-4610 -232-1 2).
Using a putty knife, remove excess caulking from patch.
Paint patched area. Refer to TM 43-0139.
