Equipment Condition:
Electric heater removed from ROWPU. Refer to
TM 10-4610-232-12, para. 4-77.
DISASSEMBLY.
NOTE
Heater is easier to work on when turned upside down. Figure 2-76 shows heater in
the upside down position.
a. Remove four screws (1, Figure 2-76) and remove cover (2).
b. Turn two fasteners (3) and lift cover assembly (4).
c. Remove six screws (5), three screws (6) and remove cover (7).
d. Tag and disconnect two wires from toggle switch (8). Remove two screws (9) and remove toggle switch (8).
e. Tag and disconnect eleven wires from contactor ( 10). Remove two screws (11) and remove contactor ( 10).
NOTE
Thermostat probe is attached to the inlet air stream above the fan.
f. Pull knob (12) off thermostat (16).
g. Tag and disconnect thermostat wires from terminal board.
h. Remove two screws (13), two cable clamps (14), and two screws (15). Remove thermostat (1 6).
i. Tag and disconnect four wires at transformer (17). Remove two screws (18) and remove transformer (1 7).
j. Tag and disconnect the wires from heating element (19). Also tag and disconnect wires from fan override (20).
k. Remove two screws (21) and remove heater element (19).
1. Remove retainer (22) and remove fan blade (23).
m. Remove six capscrews (24) and locknuts (25) and remove fan motor assembly (26) from cover (27).
a. Repair wire terminals as needed (para.
b. Replace cable assembly (para. 2-7).
c. Replace other damaged components.
