NOTE
This procedure is typical for all the different parts found in the airbrake system.
REMOVAL.
ELBOW
WARNING
Compressed air can blow dust into eyes. Wear eye protection and turn
drain cock T-handle slowly to avoid a sudden rush of air when releasing
reservoir pressure.
a.
Turn drain cock T-handle (1) slowly counterclockwise to release air pressure from reservoir.
NOTE
Ensure that airflow from reservoir has stopped before closing drain cock.
b.
Turn drain cock T-handle (1) clockwise to close drain cock.
c.
Remove sleeve nut (3) and tubing (10).
d.
Remove two nuts (4) and screws (5) and pull anchor tee (6) away from chassis crossmember.
e.
Remove elbow (7).
