3-7. TDS METER (PORTABLE) BATTERY REPLACEMENT.
This task consists of:

Removal. Refer to figure 3-8.
CAUTION
The TDS meter is a delicate instrument. With the exception of calibrating the meter or replacing
meter battery, never attempt to service or modify the instrument, Do not allow meter to get wet,
moisture will damage the instrument.
(1)
Remove bottom plate (5) from meter (4).
(2)
Pull up on strap (3) to remove battery (2) from meter (4).
(3)
Disconnect battery (2) from battery connector (1).

Installation. Refer to figure 3-8.

Connect new battery (2) to battery connector (1).
(2)
Position battery (2) on top of strap (3) and press battery into meter (4).
(3)
Calibrate meter (para. 2-15c).
(4)
Position bottom plate (5) on meter (4) and press into place.
(5)
If reading cannot be adjusted after replacing battery, replace the TDS meter.
