3-11. CHEMICAL FEED PUMP SERVICING.
This task consists of:

ROWPU shutdown (para. 2-14)
Antiseize Tape (Item 26, App D)
NOTE
Servicing of one chemical feed pump liquid head is shown. Servicing of other liquid heads is
similar.
a.
Disassembly. Refer to figure 3-12.
(1)
Loosen clamp (1) and slide up onto flexible hose (2).
(2)
Tag and disconnect flexible hose(2) from barbed fitting (5).
(3)
Loosen clamp (3) and slide down onto flexible hose (4).
(4)
Tag and disconnect flexible hose (4) from barbed fitting (9).
(5)
If required, unscrew barbed fitting (5) from check valve body (6).
(6)
Unscrew check valve body (6) from liquid head (13).
(7)
Remove poppet (7) and preformed packing (8) from liquid head (13).
(8)
If required, unscrew barbed fitting (9) from check valve body (10).
(9)
Unscrew check valve body (10) from liquid head (13).
(10)
Remove poppet (11) from check valve body (10).
(11)
Remove preformed packing (12) from liquid head (13).
b.
Cleaning. Refer to figure 3-12.
NOTE
If any component is cracked, deformed or damaged, notify unit maintenance.
(1)
Clean scale, particles of dirt and contaminants from poppets (7 and 11), check valve bodies (6 and 10),
and barbed fitting (5 and 9) using clean water and wiping rag. Holes through valve bodies and barbed
fittings must be clean and clear of obstructions.
(2)
Clean scale, particles of dirt and contaminants from liquid head (13). Rinse out liquid head with clean
water. Liquid head must be clean and clear of obstructions.
