Remove adapter (7) from valve (8) and remove valve from nipple (9).

Remove pipe nipple (9) from bushing (10) and remove bushing from filter housing cover (1).

Unscrew two bolts (4) from nuts (3) and remove them from clamping ring (2).

Remove clamping ring (2) and lift filter housing cover (1) from filter housing cover (1) from filter housing
(8, fig. 4-55).

Disassembly of Filter Housing.
(1)
Remove flange gasket (1, fig. 4-55) from filter housing (8).
(2)
Remove and disassemble filter elements (pars 3-46).
(3)
Remove six filter element adapter bushings (2) from bottom of filter housing (8).
(4)
Remove 16 nuts (9) from studs of window strips (3 and 4).
(5)
Remove two long and two short window strips (3 and 4) from inside of filter housing (8).
(6)
Remove inside window gasket from (5) from window glass (6).
(7)
Remove window glass (6) from outside window gasket (7).
(8)
Remove outside window gasket (7) from filter housing. Use filtered water to loosen gasket.

Replace. Replace all unserviceable parts.

Reassembly of Filter Housing.
(1)
Place gasket (7, fig. 4-55) on one side of window glass (6) and gasket (5) on the other, and position glass
in filter housing (8) with stud holes aligned with those in filter housing.
(2)
Insert two long window strips (3) and two short window strips (4) through stud holes of gasket (5), window
glass (6), and gasket (7), into stud holes of filter housing (8).
(3)
Install 16 nuts (9) on window strip studs and tighten securely.
(4)
Install six filter element adapter bushings (2) on welded inlet nipples at bottom of filter housing.
