POWER TAKEOFF REPAIR (CONT)
13 Remove two bearing races and two bearings from shaft.
14 Remove eight bolts. Remove flex coupling from adapter plate.
15 Inspect parts for damage. Replace as required.

Assembly

Press bearings on shaft.

Press rear bearing race into bellhousing.

Install shaft in bellhousing.

Press front bearing race into bellhousing.

Install bearing retainer. Tighten until it just contacts bearing. Tighten retainer one-quarter of a turn.

Install lock, washer, and screw.
7
Install flex coupling bushing and woodruff key. Install three bolts.
8
Install flex coupling on adapter plate. Install eight bolts.
9
Install shaft key, flex coupling, and adapter on shaft.
10 Install rubber block key.
11 Install spacer, washer, and nut.
12 Bend tab on washer up to locknut.
13 Install shaft key and belt drive gear coupling on shaft.
14 Manually turn shaft to check for looseness or binding.
