3-81. HEAT EXCHANGER REPAIR (CONT)

Remove two drain plugs from each end cover.

Remove four remaining bolts from each end cover.

Remove two end covers and two gaskets. Discard gaskets.

Remove two elbows and two pipe nipples.
6
Remove six drain plugs from heat exchanger core.
7
Using water, clean heat exchanger core. Inspect for damage. Replace as required.

Clean gasket mounting surfaces.

Install six drain plugs in heat exchanger core.
3
Install two elbows and two pipe nipples on heat exchanger core.
4
Install two gaskets. Install two end covers.
5
Install four bolts in each end cover.
6
Install two drain plugs in each end cover.
7
Install pipe nipple in each end cover.
8
Install heat exchanger (para 2-107).
