3-83. HIGH PRESSURE PIMP ASSEMBLY REPAIR (CONT)
a. Disassembly

Place drain pan under pump drain plug.

Remove pump drain plug. Drain oil.

Remove manifold plug retaining bolts. Remove manifold plug.

Remove eight pickup tube retaining bolts.

Install pickup tube center guide. Put guide all the way into pickup tube. Push or tap lightly to free pickup tube
from O-ring.
6 Secure a sling and suitable lifting device to manifold. Apply tension to hold weight of manifold. Remove four
manifold nuts.
7 Remove manifold and place on clean flat surface with endbell mating surface up.

Remove endbell O-ring.

Loosen three set screws and remove manifold seal.

Remove O-rings from manifold seal.

Remove two (of nine) endbell bolts which are straight across from each other.

Install endbell alinement tool in vacant bolt holes.

Remove seven remaining endbell bolts.
CAUTION
To prevent damage to equipment, do not bump seal mating ring on hub seal or pickup tube.

Slide rotor case endbell out on alinement pins. Remove rotor case endbell.

Place rag under endbell to catch seal mating ring. Carefully push seal mating ring out of endbell from back.

Remove seal mating ring O-ring from endbell.

Remove 10 pedestal bolts.
