3-78. CYLINDER BLOCK REPLACEMENT (CONT)
a. Cleaning and Inspection
WARNING
· Solvent may cause toxic fumes. To prevent personal injury, work only in well ventilated area.
DO NOT breathe fumes for a long time.
· Solvent is flammable. To prevent fire or explosion, DO NOT bring open flame or sparks near
solvent.
WARNING
To prevent injury to eyes, be sure to wear goggles when working with compressed air.

Clean cylinder block thoroughly with solvent. Dry with compressed air.

Check cylinder block for signs of wear or damage. Replace as required.
b. Installation

Install camshaft and bearings (para 3-77).

Install valve lifters (para 3-63).

Install crankshaft (para 3-74).

Install bellhousing (para 3-71).

Install timing gears (para 3-68).
6
Install fuel injection pump and governor drive (para 3-52).

Install engine water pump (para 2-99).
8
Install oil cooler (para 2-91).
9
Install engine and supports (para 2-83).
10
Install coolant expansion tank (para 2-98).
