Gaskets (TM 10-4610-232-24P)

Lubrication oil (Appx B, Sec II, Item 51)
Preformed Packing (TM 10-4610-232-24P)
Rags, Wiping (Appx B, Sec II, Item 58)
Seal Assembly (TM 10-4610-232-24P)
Washers (TM 10-4610-232-24P)
INSPECTION.
a. Inspect the raw water pump assembly for visible exterior damage.
b. Inspect for signs of leaks.
c. When the pump is disassembled, inspect all preformed packings, gaskets and seals.
DISASSEMBLY.
NOTE
The raw water pump can not be removed from the pump motor as an intact assembly.
The pump must be disassembled from the motor and reinstalled in the same way.
a. Remove four capscrews (1, Figure 2-13) and remove pump case (2).
b. Remove preformed packing (3) from adapter (4).
c. Remove two nuts (5) and Iockwashers (6) and remove diffuser (7).
d. Remove preformed packing (8) from diffuser (7).
e. Remove nut (9), impeller (10), spring plate (11), seal spring (12) and key (13).
f. Remove four capscrews (14), adapter (4) and carbon disc (15).
g. Remove two dowels (16), studs (17) and seal seat (18).
h. Remove stud (19).
i. Loosen two jam nuts (20) and remove two setscrews (21) and jam nuts (20).
j. Drive out roll pin (22). Remove stub shaft (23) and slinger (24).
R E P A I R .
a. Replace all damaged gaskets, preformed packing (3 and 8) and always replace complete seal assembly (11, 12, 15
and 18).
