WARNING
If the NBC filter has been used to filter nuclear, biological or chemical agents, it must
be decontaminated by specially equipped decontamination personnel and it must be
certified safe for repair work to begin. Failure to observe this precaution could result
in death to all who come in contact with NBC filter contents.
REMOVAL.

Equipment Condition:
Power shutdown. NBC filter empty
(para. 4-65, TM 10-4610 -232-1 2).

Observe specific Warning in text.
a. Remove five capscrews (1, Figure 2-65), Iockwashers (2) and flat washers (3).
b. Move the NBC filter (4) to the door in the ROWPU, and remove using suitable lifting equipment.
DISASSEMBLY.
a. Remove nuts (5), Iockwasher (6), washer (7) and U-bolt (8) from channel (9).
b. Loosen nut (10) and slide it back on upper pipe assembly(11). Remove pipe assembly (11) from coupling (12).
Remove seal (13) and nut (10) from pipe assembly (11).
c. Loosen nut (14) and slide it back on inlet pipe (15). Remove coupling (12) from inlet pipe (1 5). Remove seal (16) and
nut (14) from inlet pipe (1 5).
d. Remove two capscrews (17), washer (18), Iockwasher(19) and nut (20) and remove bracket (9).

e. Loosen nut (21) and slide it back on lower pipe assembly (22).
f. Loosen nut (23) and seal (24) and slide them back on pipe assembly (22). Remove pipe assembly (22).
g. Remove nuts (21 and 23) and seals (24 and 25) from pipe assembly (22).
h. Loosen nut (26) and seal (27), slide them back on pipe (28) and remove coupling (29).
i. Remove nut (26) and seal (27) from pipe (28).
j. Remove six each, capscrew (30), Iockwasher (31), flatwasher (32) and angles (33).
k. Remove hub assembly (34) from tank (4).
k.1. Unscrew distribution nozzles (34A) from hub (34 B).
1. Remove adapter (35) from coupling (36),
m. Remove coupling (36) from hub assembly (34).
n. Remove filter nozzle (37) from tank (4).
