MALFUNCTION
TEST OR INSPECTION
CORRECTIVE ACTION
Light test circuit does not work (Ref. Schematic diagram FO-1, sheet 10, schematic lines 1015-1021).
Step 1.
Shut down the ROWPU. Open the control panel and restart the ROWPU. Push the light test, PB18 (REF:
Interconnection diagram FO-2, Sheet 12) and watch relays LTK1, LTK2, LTK3 (REF: Interconnection
diagram FO-2, Sheet 7) and LTK4 (REF: Interconnection diagram FO-2, Sheet 8). All four indicating plungers
should be in and stay in until PB18 is released.
(a)
If some, but not all, go in, go to step 4.
(b) If none go in, go to step 6.
Step 2.
Shut down ROWPU and generator. Refer to the electrical drawings in Appendix D. Locate the faulty light(s)
and remove the neutral and power leads to it. Check resistance across the pilot light terminals. It should be
zero or near zero.
If the pilot light assembly shows infinity (open), replace the assembly (para. 2-22).
Step 3.
Checkcontinuity, point-to-point, from transformer T1(X1) (REF: Interconnection diagram FO-2, Sheet 10) to
the faulty light. Repeat the procedure from T1 (X2) to the faulty light.
(a)
Repair any loose or damaged wires (para. 2-20).
(b)
If a circuit breaker shows open, replace it (para. 2-23).
(c)
If a switch shows open, replace it (para. 2-22).
(d)
If an LTK relay contact will not close when the indicating plunger on that relay is manually depressed,
replace the relay (para. 2-23).
Step 4. Shut down ROWPU and generator. Refer to the electrical drawings in Appendix D. Check continuity,
point-to-point, from light test PB18 to the relay that is not working. Check continuity from T1 (X2) to the faulty
relay. Remove the K1 and K2 (REF: Interconnection diagram FO-2, Sheet 6) wires from any relay being
tested.
Repair any loose or damaged wires (para. 2-20).
Step 5.
Check the resistance of the faulty relay coil by measuring across the K1 and K2 terminals with the wires
removed. It should be zero or near zero.
If the coil is faulty, replace the relay (para. 2-23).
Step 6.
Shut down ROWPU and generator. Refer to the electrical drawings in Appendix D, and check continuity,
point-to-point, from transformer T1 (X1) to all four relays. Check continuity from T1 (X2) to the four relays.
Remove the K1 and K2 wires from any relay being tested.
(a)
Repair any loose or damaged wires (para. 2-20).
(b) If a circuit breaker shows open, replace it (para. 2-23).
(c)
If a switch shows open, replace it (para. 2-22).
(MODEL WTA-060 ONLY)
Turbidity monitor does not work. (Ref. Schematic diagram FO-1, sheet 8, schematic lines 812-813).
Shut down ROWPU and generator. Refer toelectrical drawings in Appendix D. Check continuity, point-to-point, from
CB9 (REF: Interconnection diagram FO-2, Sheet 8) to J16G (REF: Interconnection diagram FO-2, Sheet 9). Repeat the
procedure from T1 (X2) (REF: Interconnection diagram FO-2, Sheet 10) to J161. Replace/repair connector J16 if it is
faulty (para. 2-21).
(a)
Repair any loose or damaged wires (para. 2-20).
(b)
(c)
Test and replace circuit breaker CB7 or CB9 if either one is faulty (para. 2-23).
Replace the emergnecy stop switch (PB3) (REF: Interconnection diagram FO-2, Sheet 11) if it is open
(para. 2-22).
