Step 1.
Valves not correctly positioned. Reposition the valves (3, fig. 2-14) and (5, 6 and 11, fig. 2-20).
Step 2.
Filter pump not delivering water. (Refer to fig. 2-17). During startup and normal operating
positions,refer to Table 2-1 for proper position by valves.
Step 3.
Filter elements clogged. Backwash (para. 2-4, b. (3)) and precoat (para 2-4, b. (1)).
12. DIATOMITE FILTER WILL NOT TAKE PRECOAT.
Step 1.
Valves not correctly positioned. Reposition the valves (3 and 5, fig. 2-13)and 5 and 11, fig. 2-20).
Step 2.
Elements clogged. Backwash (para 2-4 b. (3)) or remove the elements and clean them (para 3-46
d.).
Step 3.
Elements damaged. Replace the elements (para. 3-55).
Step 4.
Elements not correctly positioned. Position the elements correctly, check O-ring gasket. Replace if
necessary (para 3-46).
