3-7. VAN BODY CLEARANCE LIGHTS.
The clearance lights are mounted in sets of three on the top front and rear, and in pairs mounted at the upper
corners of the front and rear of the van body. The top lights in front have amber lenses and the lower ones have amber
blackout lenses. The top lights at the rear have red lenses and the lower ones have red blackout lenses. All clearance
lights are 24 volts.
WARNING
Drycleaning solvent, P-D-680, used to clean parts is potentially dangerous to personnel and
property. Wear chemical resistant gloves when using solvents, and avoid repeated or
prolonged skin contact. Do not use near open flame or excessive heat. Flash point of solvent
is 100 degrees F to 138 degrees F (38 degrees C to 59 degrees C).
a.
Cleaning. Clean all parts with drycleaning solvent.
b.
Inspection.
(1)
Inspect door (3, fig. 3-3) for cracks and rust.
(2)
Inspect lens (5) and spring nuts for cracks.
(3)
Inspect lampholder base (6) for cracks, damaged wires and connectors.
(4)
Inspect lamp (7) for broken filament.
3-8. VAN BODY CEILING LIGHT.
There are four flush mounted, 110-volt ceiling lights. The door of each light is equipped with torsion spring hinges
and frosted glass. Inspection of dome light consists of the following:
a.
Inspect light frame assembly (1, fig. 3-4) for cracks, breaks, rust, or other damage.
b.
Inspect reflector (3) for rust and tarnished spots.
c.
Inspect lamp receptacle (5) for cracks.
d.
Inspect wires for corrosion or frayed ends.
e.
Inspect glass (7) for cracks or discoloration.
