3-21. ERDLATOR AGITATOR DRIVE MOTOR.
a.
General. The motor (fig. 3-9) is located on the bridge rails on top of the erdlator tank. It provides power to the
erdlator agitator by means of a pulley, belt, shaft and speed reducer. It is a three-phase, totally enclosed motor with
oblong mounting holes in the base for adjustment and alignment.
WARNING
Drycleaning solvent, P-D-680, used to clean parts is potentially dangerous to personnel and property.
Wear chemical resistant gloves when using solvents, and avoid repeated or prolonged skin contact.
Do not use near open flame or excessive heat. Flash point of solvent is 100 degrees F to 138
degrees F (38 degrees C to 59 degrees C).
b.
Cleaning. Clean the drive motor with a cloth dampened with drycleaning solvent.
c.
Inspection. Inspect the motor for signs of overheating, worn bearings, and damaged wires and insulation.
Inspect the drivebelt for damage.
