5. RAW WATER PUMP FAILS TO HOLD PRIME OR DELIVER FULL CAPACITY.
Step 1.
Check for defective hose or hose gasket.
Replace hose or gasket (para 4-113).
Step 3.
Check for improperly located pump and strainer.
Relocate pump and strainer.
Step 4.
Check for improperly adjusted peeler.
Adjust peeler (para 4-114).
Step 5.
Check for clogged impeller or pump case full of foreign matter.
Remove end cover and clean impeller and case (para 4-113).
Step 6.
Check for shaft seal leaking or inlet valve open or stuck to seat.
Replace pump assembly (para 4-73).
6. DRIVE MOTOR WILL NOT OPERATE.
Step 1.
Check for loose wiring connections.
Tighten connections.
Step 2.
Check for defective motor starter overload heaters or operating coils.
Replace overload heaters or operating coils (paras 4-49 and 4-50).
