Step 1.
Check for valves not positioned correctly.
Reposition the valves CV-36 and CV-34 (fig. 2-25).
Step 2.
Check for clogged filter elements.
Backwash (para 3-45 a. and precoat (para 2-4 c.).
15. DIATOMITE FILTER WILL NOT TAKE PRECOAT.
Step 1.
Check for valves not positioned correctly.
Reposition the valves CV-36, CV-46, CV-45 and CV-40 (fig. 2-22).
Step 2.
Check for clogged elements.
Backwash (para 3-46) or remove the elements and clean them (para 3-46).
Step 3.
Check for damaged elements.
Replace the elements (para 3-46).
Step 4.
Check for incorrectly positioned elements.
Position the elements correctly; check O-ring gasket.
Replace if necessary (para 3-46).
16. DIATOMITE FILTER RUN TOO SHORT OR TOO LONG.
Step 1.
Check for incorrect diatomite dosage.
Correct the diatomite dosage.
Step 2.
Check for improper backwash.
Backwash and precoat the filters (paras 3-46 a. and 2-4 c.).
