Reassembly of Door Hinge and Seals.
(1)
Position hinge assembly (1., fig. 4-26) and hinge seal (3) on top of door (4) and secure to door with screws
(2).
(2)
Position seals (6) and reinforcing bar (5) on ends of door body and install drive rivets (7) by driving center
pin of rivet flush with head.
d.
Installation of Door.
(1)
Raise top door assembly (3, fig. 4-25) in position so holes in hinge (1) are aligned to holes in van body and
support it securely.
(2)
Secure hinge to van body with screws (2).
(3)
Install angle brackets (1, fig. 4-24) on door with screws (2).
(4)
Connect upright arms (13) to angle brackets (1) with screws (2), flat washers (3), and nuts (4).
(5)
Remove supports and close the door.
4-31. VAN BODY LEFT SIDE BOTTOM DOOR AND COUNTERBALANCE ASSEMBLY.
a.
Removal of Bottom Door.
(1)
Open both doors and support them to prevent them from dropping when the counterbalance is
disconnected.
(2)
Remove cotter pin (2, fig. 4-27) and flat washer (7) and drive pin (4) out of lower folding arm (8) and
counterbalance cable eyes (9).
(3)
Fold lower folding arm (8) in closed position and close door (3, fig. 4-28). Block or tie door in its closed
position to prevent it from slipping or falling when hinges are disconnected.
(4)
Remove screws (1) and washers (4) securing hinges (2) to van body (5).
(5)
Remove blocking or ties and move door away from van body.
b.
Removal and Disassembly of Counterbalance Assemblies.
(1)
Remove nuts (4, fig. 4-24) and screws (2) which fasten upright arms (13) to brackets (1) and cable bars
(10).
(2)
Remove guides (12) from van body.
(3)
Remove screws (2) which connect cable terminal forks (9) to cable bars (10) and remove bars.
