Disassembly.
(1)
Remove ladder hangers, ladder bracket, center case, bolts, and night latch from door.
(2)
The door hinges and rubber seals are disassembled in the same manner as those on the left side top door.
Refer to paragraph 4-29 b. for disassembly procedure.
d.
Repair.
(1)
Remove dents from doors.
(2)
Weld cracked and broken parts.
(3)
Replace all parts that cannot be restored to a serviceable condition.
(4)
Repaint where needed.
e.
Reassembly.
(1)
Reassemble the door hinges and seals in the same manner as those on the left top door (para 4-29 c.) (2)
Assemble ladder hangers, ladder bracket, center case, bolts, and night latch to door.
f.
Installation.
(1)
Position door to van body and insert drive rivets (6, fig. 4-32). Drive center pin of rivet flush with rivet
head.
(2)
Position doorcheck (3) on mounting bracket in van body with long spring toward front of van body. Install
and tighten capscrews (4).
(3)
Position doorcheck bracket (7) on top of door and install lockwashers (1) and screws (2).
4-33. VAN BODY BONNET DOORS.
a.
General. A door is located on each side of the bonnet to allow access to the personnel heater and its
components. The following instructions pertain to both doors.
b.
Removal and Disassembly.
(1)
remove nine wood screws (1, fig. 4-30) and lift door from bonnet.
(2)
Remove screws (3) and separate door hinge (2) and door (4).
(3)
Do not remove rubber seals unless they are worn or damaged and must be replaced.
