NOTE
The START switches normally stay open and the STOP switches normally stay closed. Tag all switches
and wires before removal to ensure correct reinstallation.

Removal.
(1)
Open door of electrical control cabinet to expose switches.
(2)
Remove two terminal screws (4, fig. 3-14).
(3)
Lift terminal lead wires (1) off switches (2 and 5).
(4)
Remove four screws (4) and lockwashers (3) from switches (2 and 5) and lift switches from electric control
cabinet.
c.
Replace. Replace unserviceable switches.
d.
Installation.
(1)
Position two switches (2 and 5, fig. 3-14) in electrical control cabinet and secure with four screws (3).
(2)
Position four terminal lead wires (1) on terminals from which they were removed and secure with screws
(4).
4-56. START AND STOP CONTROL SWITCH PUSHBUTTONS.
a.
General. The START and STOP switch pushbuttons are not a part of the switches but they operate the switches
inside the electrical control cabinet. They are located in the electrical control cabinet door opposite switches and may be
replaced without removing the switches. All pushbuttons are removed and installed in the same manner.
b.
Removal.
(1)
Open electrical control cabinet door (4, fig. 3-15), then hold that part of pushbutton (3) that extends
through to the inside of the door.
(2)
Remove the knurled nut (2) and plate (1) and remove pushbutton from door.
c.
Replace. Replace unserviceable pushbuttons.
d.
Installation.
(1)
Open electrical control cabinet door (4, fig. 3-15) and position that pushbutton in the hole in the door and
hold it.
(2)
Position plate (1) over pushbutton (3) and secure the plate and button with the knurled nut (2).
