TRANSFORMER.
a.
General. The stepdown transformer is mounted in the upper left-hand corner of the electrical control cabinet.
The transformer is for alternating current of the voltage and frequency specified on the unit. Do not connect it to any
other circuit. The buzzer is connected to the two secondary terminals of the transformer. The other terminals are for
connecting the toggle switch and low water alarm light.
NOTE
Identify the terminals and wires as the wires are removed to ensure correct reinstallation.
b.
Removal.
(1)
Open control cabinet door (4, fig. 3-15) or expose stepdown transformer (4, fig. 3-17), located in upper
left-hand corner.
(2)
Remove nuts securing toggle switch alarm light and warning buzzer wires (10, 5 and 1) to transformer (4).
(3)
Remove screws (8) and lockwashers (9), and remove stepdown transformer (4).
c.
Cleaning, Inspection, Test, and Replacement.
(1)
Clean transformer with a clean, dry cloth.
(2) Inspect transformer for loose or broken terminals and other damage.
(3)
Test transformer for continuity of circuits and correct operation.
(4)
Replace transformer if it is defective.
d.
Installation.
(1)
Position transformer (4, fig. 3-17) in electrical control cabinet (2) and secure with screws (8) and
lockwashers (9).
(2)
Attach wires for toggle switch, alarm light, and warning buzzer (10, 5 and 1) to their proper terminals on
transformer (4) and secure with nuts.
(3)
Close control cabinet door (4, fig. 4-12).

TERMINAL BLOCK.
a.
General. The terminal block is mounted in the electrical control cabinet. It serves as a centralized location for
connecting the various wiring circuits of the water purification unit.
