Removal. Unscrew gage (1, fig. 4-50) from pipe bushing (2).

Inspect and Replace.
(1)
Inspect gage for cracked glass, leaks, pointer loose on shaft or not set on zero, and markings on dial not
legible.
(2)
Replace a damaged gage.
d.
Installation. Install gage (1, fig. 4-50)' in bushing (2) and tighten securely.

DIATOMITE FILTER GAGES AND MOUNTING BRACKET.
a.
General. There are two pressure gages (24 and 25, fig. 4-51) for each filter. They are mounted on brackets
attached to the filtered water piping. The gages indicate the pressure in the influent and effluent compartments of the
filter.
b.
Removal.
(1)
Disconnect flare nuts (9, fig. 4-51) from elbow (10).
(2) Screw elbows (10) from effluent gage (24) and influent gage (25).
(3)
Remove nuts from back of gages (24 and 25) and remove from mounting bracket (8).
(4)
Remove screws (7), and remove mounting bracket (8) and straps from filtered water piping (23).
(5)
Remove tubes (11) from adapters (12).
(6)
Remove adapters (12), draincocks (13), and nipples (14) from tees (15).
(7)
Remove draincocks (16), tees (15), nipples (17), and bushings (18).
c.
Inspect. Inspect gages for broken glass and sticking, or damaged indicator hands. Inspect the mounting bracket
and hardware for damage.
d.
Replace. Replace any parts that are damaged.
e.
Installation.
(1)
Position gages (24 and 25, fig. 4-51) on mounting bracket (8) and secure with mounting nuts.
(2)
Screw an elbow (10) in back of each gage.
(3)
Attach bracket (8) to filtered water piping (23) with its mounting strap and screws (7).
