MINOR REPAIRS
Introduction
The areas of repair indicated are classed as minor
repairs and may be performed, following the procedures
in this section, without voiding the unit warranty.
Although specific units are illustrated, these procedures
apply to all series and types of units in the Heavy Duty
Family.
General
Cleanliness is a primary means of insuring satisfactory
transmission life, on either new or repaired units.
Cleaning parts by using a solvent wash and air drying is
adequate, providing clean solvent is used. As with any
precision equipment, the internal mechanism and related
items must be kept free of foreign materials and
chemicals.
Protect all exposed sealing surfaces and open cavities
from damage and foreign material.
It is recommended that all gaskets and O-rings be
replaced. All gasket sealing surfaces must be cleaned prior
to installing new gasket. Lightly lubricate all O-rings with
clean petroleum jelly prior to assembly.
