Put the injection fuel lines in position, andinstall the nuts until they are finger tight.2.Install the spacers and bolts (2) that hold the fuelinjection lines to the cylinder head.3.Use tool (A) and tighten nuts (1) to a torque of 40 + 7N•m (30 + 5 Ib. ft.).NOTICEDo not let the tops of the fuel nozzles turn when thefuel lines are tightened. If the tops of the nozzlesturn, the nozzles will be damaged.4.Use tool (A), a wrench, and a torque wrench totighten nuts (3). Tighten nuts (3) to a torque of 40 + 7N•m (30 + 5 Ib.ft.).5.Remove (bleed) the air from the fuel lines. SeePriming The Fuel System in the Maintenance Guide.Fuel Injection NozzlesRemove Fuel Injection Nozzles1254-011Tools NeededAB6V6980Nozzle Puller*1FT1533Nozzle Adapter*11P74Slide Hammer Puller1*Part of 6V7020 Nozzle Puller Group.START BY:a.remove fuel injection linesNOTE: The illustrations which follow are of a 3306Engine.1.Remove bolt (1) and clamp (2) from the fuel injectionnozzles to be removed.2.Install tool (A) with the inside lip of the puller on thelower stepped diameter of the nozzle and the tip of thebutton in the threaded hole for bolt (1).NOTICEDo not exceed a torque of 17 N•m (150 Ib. in.) on thescrew in tooling (A) during removal of the nozzle.Added force can cause the stem ofthe nozzle to bend or break off.3.Tighten the screw in tooling (A) to a maximum torqueof 17 N•m (150 Ib. in.) to remove fuel injection nozzle (3).10
